H.O.P.E. Foundation International is a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing basic medical and dental assistance to the indigenous Aetas in the Mount Pinatubo locale and the isolated poor of the Philippines, according to its official website, www.hope-foundation.org. Every start of the year in January, a medical mission is undertaken, stretching out to five to seven days, to treat Aetas and medically deprived children in the Philippines. The special team of medical staff and volunteers treat almost 5,000 people with various ailments. They also provide a program called “Special Missions”, focusing on the development of Aetas as a people, and the treatment of some rare cases of children’s diseases that are often neglected due to the big expense these entail. One such case was the Hemangioma Project, with a 12-year-old girl who had hemangioma in the side of her neck.
