John L. Being the Chairman of the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), and having donated millions to selected institutions(specifically San Carlos University and Ateneo de Manila) of his choice embody his philanthropic spirit that has clearly soared along with his financial success. *Ramon Del Rosario Jr.
His father co-founded Philippine Investment Management which is now called Phinma, of which Ramon Del Rosario Jr. is currently the President and CEO. He also served as Secretary of Finance from 1992-1993 during the incumbency of President Fidel Ramos. He graduated from De La Salle University and also from the Harvard Business School. He has been a patron of his Alma Mater, the De La Salle schools, for a long time now. He recently launched a campaign to raise $25 million for the Pinoy Micro-Enterprise Social Investment Fund, which will help micro-finance institutions in the Philippines extend loans to small-time entrepreneurs. He is an active member of several organizations that take up social issues and those that fight corruption as well.
