Fashion Industry
* Monique Lhullier
Diane Monique Lhullier is the daughter of Amparito and Michele Lhullier, a wealthy business tandem from Cebu City, Philippines. Her family’s company operates a chain of pawnshops with outlets all over the whole country. She had always been inclined to good taste and unique imaginations even at a young age, so her parents decided to send her to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) where she met her future husband, Tom Bugbee. After their wedding, which she helped conceptualized, she decided to design wedding dresses to help brides-to-be cope with the difficulties in choosing the best wedding gown. What started as “just a wedding blues effect” according to her husband, turned out to be a fulfilling and lucrative business for Monique. Moreover, Tom Bugbee became a co-founder of their wedding designing firm. Eventually, they ventured to evening gowns too, and most of these can now be found on Hollywood’s red carpet. More and more famous international celebrities are letting her design their wedding dresses. So, always be on the lookout for newer, fresher Monique Lhullier collections.

He used to be under Sari-Sari Store with a clothing line called Zchizo. He decided to study fashion in New York and there, worked hard to become a distinguished designer. He is well patronized by Hollywood celebrities today through his own brand Rafe NY. He has been recognized and awarded both in the Philippines and America for his contributions to the fashion industry.
Category 3 – Famous Misfortunes and Scandals of Famous People
Famous misfortunes of famous people are mainly about the scandals and cases they are involved in. Here, I have outlined politicians first because as leaders in society, bigger responsibility is expected of them. Unfortunately, when they fall from grace, they also failed the electorate who put them in their supposedly respected position. Second is the national nursing exam scandal. The ensuing issues that arose served as an awakening to the nation. Nurses are big dollar earners who in turn help boost the economy that is why their credentials should not be tainted in any way. The nursing board examination scandal should not be repeated and should be prevented at all costs in the future.
Third highlighted here, are the once-too-often malpractices of our practitioners in the medical profession. Through the individual cases being fought in criminal courts, we hope that this ongoing problem will be properly addressed by lawmakers to avoid additional mistakes and crimes. Lastly, I feature the ever-occurring natural calamities this tropical country of ours always experience in a year. This calls for detailed planning in our respective government agencies in order to prepare for these and lessen damages whenever natural disasters strike.
