Naturally, Filipinos are pet lovers as well. Some love to keep animals in their homes as companions or as a guard, while others keep them because they saw them homeless in a street. Filipinos are a nurturing people by nature. They care for animals as they would their own offspring. Yet, there are those that keep pets because they love to show them off and most of which are exotic creatures like reptiles, amphibians, birds, spiders, snakes, rabbits, guinea pigs, sugar gliders, and hedgehogs to name some. You will also find a lot of Filipino breeding them and selling to other exotic animal lovers. If you would like to buy an exotic pet for yourself and bring it to your home country, you will need to obtain a permit from the Bureau of Animal Industries, vaccination, and health certificate.
